Poseidon 3468: IP Thermostat with 230V relays
Web enabled thermostat with temperature/humidity measurement, four dry contact inputs and two 110/230V relay outputs. Industrial version, supports SNMP and E-mail, DIN rail mount.
| Poseidon 3468 alerts the operator to critical situations (contact opened/closed, or temperature/humidity out of safe range).
In case of an alarm, Poseidon sends an e-mail and connects to your NMS (Network Management System) with a SNMP trap.
Configuration and current sensor readings are accessible through a graphical WWW interface.
-
IP thermostat function to control outputs locally
-
2 outputs rated at 250V / 16A (double-throw relay contacts)
-
Connect up to 4 temperature or humidity sensors and 4 Dry Contact inputs
-
When a contact is closed, e-mails or SNMP traps are sent to multiple recipients

Applications
-
Remote rack monitoring Door open, temperature / humidity, power outage, states of contacts, equipment restart
-
UPS / back-up generator monitoring Fuel level, diesel generator status, remote start over IP, monitoring of temperature and service contacts
-
Air conditioning control over IP Turns on heating / cooling when specified temperatures are sensed
-
IP-based security systems
- Surveillance systems (external sensors)
- Equipment status, access control systems
-
Operation logging: storages, coolers and freezers (food and pharmaceutical industry)
-
Monitoring systems: Information booths, ATMs, terminals
Sensors
1-Wire sensors
- Total bus length max 60 m
- Each sensor has its own SafeRange. When the range is exceeded (alarm), e-mail or SNMP trap is invoked.
DI (Dry contact inputs) for detectors:
DO (Digital Outputs) Relay:
- Power Detector / Control 110/230V AC: PowerEgg
>> Other sensors
IP thermostat = output control
Each relay output can be controlled either by a local condition, or manually:
- Over WWW by the user
- M2M XML protocol
- M2M SNMP protocol
- M2M Modbus/TCP protocol

The local condition mode works as a thermostat or hygrostat over IP. The output can be tied to any connected sensor, including dry contact inputs. The control is affected by sensor hysteresis.
Which software to use
- Configuration: UDP Config - IP address configuration
- Event processing: PD Trigger - reacts to events
- Monitoring and logging: HWg-PDMS - Monitoring software with MS Excel reporting
- Simple Visualization: SNMPcap - I/O and sensors
- Visualization: CapTemp - Process monitoring and control
- Other applications: Third-party SNMP software
- For programmers: HWg-SDK contains interface descriptions and examples of using M2M protocols in several programming languages
PD Trigger application example
With the PD Trigger application for Windows, it is possible to receive alarms (SNMP traps) from an unlimited number of Poseidon products and define conditions and actions based on the originating device and the probe name. For example:
- In case of air conditioning failure in server room A, send a SMS to Peter
- In case of alarm in server room B, send e-mail to Tom
- In case of electricity supply failure anywhere, send SMS to Peter and turn on a warning light at the receptionist's desk
